WRAP works closely with medical students, residents, and healthcare workers at UMass to provide healthcare services to resettled refugees.
The Covid-19 pandemic has added another layer of complexity in ensuring the health and safety of the refugee community. WRAP is working with physicians and UMass medical students to:
Test community members for Covid-19
Educate community members around the dangers of Covid-19 and the importance of quarantine if Covid-positive
Gather information on Covid-19 vaccination status of refugees, and schedule appointments for those who are eligible for COVID-19 vaccine and booster
Advocate for improvement in interpreter services at health centers
Collaborate with community health centers to ensure refugees have access to longitudinal medical care
